The Walpole is a newly completed £5.8 million, five-storey student accommodation development, delivering 87 high-quality rooms with generous communal spaces to support the growing student population around Goldsmiths, University of London.
The building incorporates a gas-fired combined heat and power (CHP) system alongside an extensive photovoltaic (PV) array, providing low-carbon electricity in line with the London Plan energy strategy. Despite the constraints of a compact urban site, the design maximises usable space while prioritising energy performance, sustainability, and long-term operational efficiency.
As BREEAM advisors and assessors, Method Consulting worked closely with the design team to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating.
