Comprehensive refurbishment & remodelling of this Wren designed Grade I listed building housing the Chelsea Pensioners.

This prestigious conservation project involved the extensive refurbishment and remodelling of the historic Wren-designed building that houses the Chelsea Pensioners. The works were carried out across four main blocks in three carefully planned phases, all while ensuring the hospital remained fully operational throughout.

Our engineers collaborated closely with architect Peregrine Bryant to guarantee that every aspect of the refurbishment adhered to English Heritage and other conservation guidelines. Meticulous attention to detail and seamless coordination with the design team were essential to deliver mechanical and electrical solutions that were both technically sound and sympathetic to the building’s historic character. Services were discreetly integrated to preserve the architectural integrity, drawing on our extensive experience in conserving heritage buildings.

Following the success of this project, we were appointed to undertake the refurbishment and remodelling of the Grade II* listed Soane Stable Block.
