Major refurbishment of the Grade II Listed Buttermarket complex in the heart of Redruth to create a workspace, retail and community hub.
This transformative project has preserved the architectural heritage of the site while delivering modern, accessible facilities that support local enterprise and social engagement. The revitalised complex now hosts a mix of independent retailers, artisan food and drink outlets, and flexible event spaces designed to accommodate markets, performances, and cultural programming throughout the year.
Affordable employment space has also been created for up to 25 businesses, with a focus on supporting start-ups and providing flexibility for growth into larger units. These spaces promote sustainability through ‘green leases’, contributing to Redruth’s carbon neutral ambitions.
Partly funded by the High Streets Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ), the redevelopment was led by Redruth Revival CIC and forms a key part of the Redruth High Street Heritage Action Zone scheme.
