Redevelopment of the former Highgate police station.
This high-spec development comprises 82 one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, a penthouse, and luxury five-bedroom townhouses. Spread across six storeys, it also includes a smaller mews building nestled in the courtyard. The development also included an undercover car parking with a landscaped garden area.
The design prioritised insulation and reduced energy consumption, integrating a gas-fired combined heat and power (CHP) system housed in a central plant room. This system contributed to a 40% reduction in carbon emissions compared to standard Building Regulations.
Method Consulting completed the mechanical and electrical engineering design using Revit MEP 3-D software to enable the size of the services risers throughout the six-storey building to be minimised in order to maximise the net lettable floor space whilst ensuring that plant can still be safely installed and maintained.
The development achieved Level 4 under the Code for Sustainable Homes and a BREEAM Very Good rating.
