The former Bath Press site on Lower Bristol Road is undergoing a major transformation, into a mix of residential and commercial spaces.
Originally home to the Pitman Press printing works in the 1890s, the site will retain its historic façade as part of the redevelopment, preserving a key piece of Bath’s heritage. The plans include 30 three-storey terraced townhouses, 247 Build-to-Rent apartments across five storeys, and 16,000 sq ft of commercial space, designed to bring new life to this landmark location.
The development prioritises sustainability and connectivity, offering easy access to public transport, pedestrian-friendly pathways, two car club spaces, electric vehicle charging points, and 592 cycle spaces to encourage greener travel choices.
In line with Bath’s planning policy, the site will be powered by air source heat pumps and connected to a community (district) heating scheme.
